The Sharks<\/strong> are working in partnership with Paddle UK and the Wild Water Racing Committee to deliver a genuine legacy for the discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Is the Lee Valley Legacy Project?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is more than a race day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lee Valley Legacy Project is a collaborative white water development experience with Wild Water Racing (WWR) at its heart. It\u2019s designed to bring paddlers, clubs, coaches, and the wider WWR community together to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Build confidence on moving water<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Develop transferable white water skills<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Introduce and grow Wild Water Racing<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Create a shared pathway from learning \u2192 confidence \u2192 racing<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Establish something sustainable, repeatable, and meaningful<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event is about working together \u2014 not just turning up and racing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s about lowering barriers, sharing knowledge, supporting progression, and creating an environment where people feel welcome, encouraged, and excited to push their paddling a little further \u2014 at their own pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re laying foundations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For paddlers. For clubs. For the future of white water paddlesport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who Is This For?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone. Absolutely everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our guiding principle is simple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start with what you\u2019re comfortable in \u2014 then take the next step with support.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Progression might look like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GP \u2192 Slalom \u2192 Wavehopper \u2192 Wild Water Racer \u2192 Learn C1 \u2192 Try C2<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day has been shaped to feel welcoming, supportive, and confidence-building. It\u2019s particularly well suited to paddlers who are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 New to white water<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Curious about Wild Water Racing but unsure where to start<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Confident on flat water and ready for the next step<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Slalom or wavehopper paddlers wanting more time on moving water<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Experienced racers who want a fun, social, high-energy race environment<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juniors, seniors, masters, families, clubs \u2014 if you paddle, you belong here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve already received a lot of enthusiasm from paddlers and clubs, which is fantastic to see. To help make the day accessible, a range of boats will be available to borrow. <\/strong>Please just be aware that many paddlers will be sharing equipment throughout the day, so we simply ask everyone to be flexible, and supportive \u2014 very much in the spirit of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volunteers & Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make this event viable and deliver the standard we\u2019re aiming for, we need support from the wider community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are looking for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Marshals<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Bankside safety<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 On-water safety support<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your club can help \u2014 even by bringing one coach or volunteer to support delivery \u2014 it would make a huge difference to the smooth running and enjoyment of the day for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
